Manukau Harbour Crossing - MHX

INTRODUCTION

The Manukau Harbour crossing project increased the capacity of State Highway 20 to the airport and Manukau City from two lanes each way to three lanes each way. We were commissioned by the MHX Alliance to prepare the construction programme, monitor and report on progress to keep the project on track.

The motorway project included an additional crossing of the Harbour at Onehunga.

The new bridge spans 650m and provides 4 southbound lanes, as the old bridge carries 4 northbound lanes.

MHX was another successful alliance project composed of Fletcher, Higgins, Beca and Transit NZ.
