INTRODUCTION
Downer were contracted to design and build a new gas fired power station alongside the original Huntly coal powered site. We prepared and monitored the construction programme for Downer to keep the project on track.
The power is generated by a gas fired turbine, a high pressured steam turbine and a low pressure steam turbine, all of which shared the same spindle or shaft. The steam was generated from the heat of the exhaust gases.
