CRL Master programme

INTRODUCTION

The City Rail Link is the creation of a rail loop linking Britomart Station with Mt Eden Station. We were commissioned by Auckland Transport to prepare the Master programme for the City Rail Link. Latterly we have been commissioned by City Rail Link Limited (the Client) to review and advise on the programme prepared by Link Alliance (Contractor).

The project includes:

  • Building a tunnel from Britomart Station through to Mt Eden station
  • Making Britomart a through station rather than a terminal station (i.e. creating quicker turnaround times)
  • A new station at Aotea (a cut and cover station under Albert Street between Wyndham & Wellesley Street)
  • A new underground station at Karangahape Road
  • A renewed station at Mt Eden
  • East & West overpass/bridge links to the North Auckland Line (the rail line from Newmarket to Ranui)

A 6 year construction project including commissioning and operator training
